Why Black Friday shouldn't start on Thursday
Black Friday used to be a day where there would be awesome deals but only if you stayed up late enough but not anymore. Black Friday 2014 is now starting as early as 6:00 PM on Thanksgiving at some retailers such as Best Buy, Walmart, Sears, Kohl’s, Target, K-Mart, Macy’s, Penny’s, Staples, Meijer, Walgreen's, and many others. Black Friday is a great opportunity for people to get things for loved ones at a lower cost but not if it interferes with the special bonding time we get to have with our immediate or extended family to catch up and simply have a good time.

Some corporations like those listed above want to make the most money for Black Friday and it seems that starting earlier is the way to do it. But are all of the deals worth it? I don’t think so. Black Friday could start on 12:00 AM Friday and run until 6:00 AM the next day to make up for the lost time by pushing the start time back. Retailers could still have their deals last the same amount of time and not interfere with the bonding time families get to have. Sadly though this would never change, retailers are money hungry, the 24 hours isn't enough, and as a result black Friday has taken over Thanksgiving. In years to come Black Friday will most likely extend its hours by making the sales earlier until its Black Thursday and Friday.
